Drive-Thru

Sick of the cobbler’s children having no shoes,  I set my sights on making sure that the knitter’s children some handknits to keep them warm.  Sure they have hats a plenty, and more amigurumi than you can shake a knitting needle at, but it was time for sweaters.
I checked out what other knitta’s were making for their munchkins and came across Knit and Tonic’s Drive-Thru sweater.  I just love the instant gratification of buying a pattern and getting it in my email box seconds later.  Oh sweet technology, how I love thee.
Loki's Drive-Thru
I told one of my girlfriends that it would take me a few weeks to get each of the sweaters done, but low and behold each one was completed in THREE DAYS!!!  I’m very happy with how they turned out, and most happy that the boys like them enough to wear them when the weather permits.  Luckily in the Pacific Northwest, the weather permits quite often.

Both sweaters are made from Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in a worsted weight.  I had heard that Knit Picks skimps on their yardage and bought extra just in case.  I am pleased to say that there was in fact, no skimping and I had plenty of yardage without the extra skeins.

The boys like their sweaters and I’m glad that they actually wear them. Apollo made the final pick on the pattern and the color for his sweater, and well, Loki didn’t care a bit what the colors in his sweater were, so I got to pick.

I’m currently working on the Cobblestone Pullover for Thor.  I’m using Cascade 220 Heathers in Sparrow and have already ripped it out twice.  Things are finally going well with the sweater and I’ve gotten about five inches knit on the torso.  Pics tomorrow!

Love these sweaters! They turned out really nice. I just love patterns that work for both boys and girls. Keeping this in mind for future Christmas gifts for my nieces and nephew!
